次の文章を読み,下線部(A),(B)を英語に訳しなさい。


 日本の若者たちが外国旅行をしなくなったと言われて久しい。それもあって,私のような者にまで,もっと外国を旅せよという「檄」を飛ばしてもらえないかといった依頼が届くようになった。だが,申し訳ないけれど,そうした依頼はすべて断ることにしている。

 (A)ひとつには,私も若いとき,年長者の偉そうな「叱咤激励」が鬱陶しいものと思えていた。だから自分が齢を取っても,絶対に若者たちに対するメッセージなどを発しないようにしようと心に決めたということがある。

 (B)もうひとつ,旅への関心には様々な段階があると思えるのだ。近いところから,少しづつ遠いところに関心が向かっていくというのも珍しいことではない。たとえ,いまは日本国内に留まっていても,何かのきっかけがありさえすれば,いつか異国への関心が芽生えるだろう。

(A) One reason is that when I was young, I found it irritating to be "encouraged" arrogantly by senior people. So, I made up my mind never to send any message to young people even when I became old.

 / One reason is that, when I was young, I myself found it annoying to receive arrogant "scolding and encouragement" from our elders; therefore, I was determined never to give any kind of message to young people even when I grew old enough.

 / For one thing, when I was young, I always thought it irritating when elderly people arrogantly "scolded and encouraged" us, and thus I made up my mind never to try to give any advice to young people when I became mature.

(B) Another reason is that I think people get interested in traveling in various stages. It is not rare to become interested in traveling in nearby places first and then gradually in farther places.
