Will governments be able to keep up with increasing energy demands in the future?

【解答例】

I think that governments will be able to keep up with increasing energy demands in the future, and I have three reasons for my opinion.

First, thanks to technological progress, we will have more energy-saving products in the future. For example, future cars will run farther with less fuel, and the air-conditioners in the future will consume less energy. By using such energy-saving products, we can reduce the amount of energy we need to live our everyday lives.

Second, there will be various types of sustainable energy resources in the future. For instance, we will have a more advanced solar power generation system, or wind power generation which can produce energy much more efficiently. Making full use of such more efficient sustainable energy generation systems will help us to meet increasing energy demands in the future.

Third, it is certain the more people there will be, the more energy they will need, but the growth in world population is expected to slow down in the future, which means the growth in energy demands will also go slower. Therefore, I think it is likely that we can manage to keep up with energy demands in the future.

For these three reasons I mentioned, I believe that it is quite possible for governments to satisfy increasing energy demands in the centuries to come. (221 words)

In recent years, concerned reports regarding the future of energy have become more frequent. Despite this, governments will be able to continue supplying sufficient energy in the future due in large part to technological innovation, financial incentives, and the environmentalist movement.

First, technological innovation is booming in the energy sector. Manufacturers unveil new generations of green energy production technology year after year, and low-energy products have become abundant. By increasing production and lowering electricity usage through technological advancement, a stable energy supply can be maintained for future generations.

Additionally, as demand for energy rises, people will be willing to shell out more for it. This will incentivize businesses to invest heavily in energy, stimulating competition in the industry. The resulting flood of products and services can only be a boon for end users, eventually reaching an equilibrium where energy supply satisfies demand.

Furthermore, the average person these days is far more aware of the need to conserve energy. Simple efforts such as turning off devices when not in use can greatly reduce an individual’s energy use. As such practices spread, the amount of energy governments need to produce will decrease dramatically, allowing them to fulfill future demand.

In summary, by various methods of increasing supply and driving down demand through inventive technology, profitable commercial prospects, and more awareness of resource conservation, it is very likely that governments will be able to continue providing energy to their people into the future.
