Some people say animals exist for human pleasure and our needs, as we are at the top of the food chain. Therefore, animals are just commodities for humans to exploit whenever required. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? Write an essay in English. Support your argument with reasons and examples.

I totally disagree with this opinion and I have several reasons. First of all, animals do not exist for humans. I believe that animals have free will as humans do, and that they have the ability to choose how to live their own lives. Therefore, humans should not regard them as commodities nor disturb their lives. We humans have no right to exploit animals, such as animal experimentation for new drug development. At the same time, however, I think we should be allowed to eat animals for our survival. That is because we humans cannot live without eating animal meat, such as beef, pork, or chicken. But, needless to say, we must be careful so that we will cause them as little pain as possible when we kill and eat them. In conclusion, humans should never exploit animal lives except when we need to eat them for our survival. (149 words)
